MOVEOUT is as international network that aims creating and strengthen the contacts between the researchers studying social movement outcomes. We have a wide perspective and focus both on short-term outcomes and long-term legacies of social movements mobilization across the disciplines and geographical regions.
The co-operation is expected to lead to sought theoretical and methodological breakthroughs in understanding the role of citizens in various social and political processes. The MOVEOUT has three main objectives:
(1) Develop an innovative interdisciplinary approach to the study of social movement outcomes by combining knowledge from three disciplines: political science, sociology and history.
(2) Create a forum of junior and senior scholars working on the issues of social movement outcomes via organizing workshops with some of the most distinguished scholars in the field. The new contacts across the Atlantic and Europe will not only allow for developing better integrated theories and empirical analyses, but will help initiating future innovative research. The networks also aims to attract scholars from Eastern European and developing countries.
(3) Organise workshops for presenting ongoing research and planning future research projects; and encourage collective publications.
